Pot Luck Friday..Part IV
Dis shole duz look good!
This forum is a smash hit based on the great response from last week. I am excited to present once again POT LUCK FRIDAY..
What I would like to do is get some feed back from some non blogging readers or some bloggers that don't have the time to blog right. An open forum or a wish list if you will. For example, the "Stop SNitching" theory being taught to our kids or how current employers use sites like myspace as a screening tool to weed out potential employees.
There is no topic off limits! I know that relationship posts are common but be more specific. What element of the relationships? Finding one, keeping one, how to get out of one..all are up for discussion and friendly debate.
I am an information junkie! Garbage in--garbage out! But, I still like to process information. So, I'd like to try to start a day where the readers are in control of every single question, we take the comment that is posted right before you, answer their comment question, then post your own question for the next person. We can discuss it in a civil manner. If it goes well, then it could be really fun.
Have a fantastic weekend and let's come up with some great questions to kick around the campfire!
So without further delay.....who is up for the challenge, part 5?

I'll go first...
Why after an extended period of intamacy, do men act surprised women assume commitment when the woman made it quite clear in the beginning that she was never interested in casual sex but a serious relationship?
Ok, I just watched a hilarious clip with the woman Alexyss Taylor. LOL. She talks about vagina/penis power.
Please view this clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqg_ceFM30I
Can a vagina/penis have so much power over a person they lose their minds?
kiki: prolly it's because he was drunk when he was tryin' to hit it and luck'd out, the first time. once we can steer y'all clear from that conversation (usually a blow job will do the trick!; can't talk wif yo mouf full) the subject will generally go away, til y'all start talkin' wif yo' girlfriends
shai: i did have this one babycakes fuck'd my brains out. does that count?....lol
oh, my question....uhhhh, hmph....i'll think of sumpthin' later. ;-P
Lance, you got issues, dude. SMH. Man when you going to start posting on your blog?
there are other babycakes????WTF?
@Shai...I just put up a post kind of asking the same question but yeah the two are definately connected.
@Lance...oh I see...it's the "Jedi blow-job sumblimenal mind trick"...got it! (lol)
@Sheletha...was that your question?...lol
no, that wasn't my question...but it was a question...but it wasn't the question pertaining to the blog...
Lance, you fugged up... you know you done fugged up!
Kiki: Man, that's why I NEVER assumee commitment; and even more so, If I know I want a serious relationship then I can't jump into casual sex. I'd slow walk the heck outta that thing...just because I've said what I want, I'll only get it if I act like that's what I want. You know men will usually take what we give them...give them nothing and they may take a walk... LOL.
I don't really have a question...maybe later.
uh-oh, running out of the room....
....to get a beer! brb...lol
hahahaha, that's funny shai...never thought about the "jedi-joint"...and only with a wave a my fangaz, gotta keep my pimp hand skrong!...lol
it's all good sheletha, my lovey babycakes.... that was a long time ago....two weeks to be exact!
just fuggin' wif ya. heyyyyy, it's friday. the sun is out here in nyc and it's gettin' hot. we've been under the clouds, rain, cold damn near two weeks and only then for a minute. temps near 70's and everyone's losing their minds.
can't you tell wif me?... (8-)
I don't know why a woman's p*ssy and heart is attached to each other it seems like the GOD's curse in Eden was just that ... My heart is attached to my dreams and my wallet
I don't know if it's ever clear to a man when he is ready to commit until another dude is really advancing in his quest to get the cooch he is coveting then he says I do so she don't lol... to a man commitment is only a means to the end of her being able to fuck someone else ( adultry)
. My question for the day is why do women feel it's necessary to lash out instead of move on...?
Cort, when a woman emotionally invests it is hard to let go.
Why is it men get mad when a woman wants him to read her mind yet many men expect women to know what they mean non-verbally also?
Lance...you've had too many beers...my name's not shai...lol...just say no!
oh, my bad kiki...all y'all look alike to me...that's the don imus in me talking...(8-P
okay, okay...i'm good. time to get with the program and come correct...sorry for typo kiki, my bad...
"Why is it men get mad when a woman wants him to read her mind yet many men expect women to know what they mean non-verbally also?" - shai
real simple shai. we ain't got time to try to "figga" y'all out. especially if you're in a long term, living together or married relationship. at some point, you have to let go of the fantasy of mr. dreamy and your man is WHAT he is.
if you don't like what you're seeing (yo' man), you shoulda thought about that a long time ago because the signs were there, you just didn't heed them. cause in the back of your mind, you felt you could "change" him or he'll "change" on his own, for your sake.
it's a direct thing. if you want something, need something, need help, say it. better yet, do it yo'self. that's the man's way, til we can't do it and need help.
a lotta time, we're listening to you, even though you "think" we're not. like when i'm watching the game, working on a screenplay, on the phone or just riding down the highway. y'all just want "constant" attention, natural nurturers of your child-bearing physique. like "eyeball-to-eyeball" attention.
men, we don't "roll" like that. it's all about patience. no problems. no worries. just relax, where you going?
why we expect you to know WHAT we mean by NOT sayin' a damn word?
if the routine is continually the same every day, why interrupt the routine? if i had a hard day at work and just want to wind down for a minute before talking, why can't you wait til i've mentally delete the bullshit from work so i can enjoy YOU more? make sense?
q: why do women feel like they need to analzye the things that are male-oriented, when you ain't go nuthin' to do with it?
easy thought: watching action movies, sports on t.v.
crazy thought: takin' a piss outside behind the house.
OH MY GOODNESS...LOL. Lance: I totally agree with EVERYTHING in your last statement... wow, amazing... and if most women thought that way...things would be soo easy.
Ok, I've got a question in statement form:
"DIDN'T I say, I don't like you like that...why do you SWEAR you can change my mind?" A.K.A. Why is it so hard for Men to take NO for an answer?
Lance, I don't try talking to a man at certain times. Funny thing is I have had male friends who will call while doing something else and cannot hold the convo, will talk about the game or whateva he is doing. LOL. SMH. And if I try to get off then he trips like I can watch and talk. Many times I don't even say anything about what he is doing. Guilty. LOL. SMH.
So Lance a woman is to adjust, let a man be a man and the man does not adjust? LOL.
Oh and by the way I don't fantasize about Mr. Dreamy. I just don't some of the crap some men think I am supposed to do. LOL.
"Why is it so hard for Men to take NO for an answer?" -justme
....cause y'all wrong, that's why?...lol simple. to the point. that's a man fo' ya! (;-P
shai, not to sound igg'nant, though most times i do..what is "SMH"?
"let a man be a man and the man does not adjust?" - shai
if a man doesn't pay attention to his woman or at least show some sense of affection, he'll fuck up and lose her by takin' her for granted, then the tears will roll. you might not see it, but that negro's hurtin'.
(especially, when he sees her with the other man, but little does SHE know, she's in for the same ride as she was with the other guy as this NEW guy is just after the draws, for a minute anyway. but on the other hand, maybe that's all she wants) y'all can be ruthless as hell!
that's why it's important to listen at all times, even when i have to take a shit in the bathroom and she's still steadily talking at the door...lol
y'all just got to be heard...lol
Lance, SMH=Shaking My Head LOL.
The negro is hurting. ROFLMAO. SMH. I know men can be more fragile then yall act. The thing is quit acting so shitty or stupid. I had a one of my best male friends did some stupid ish to his girl cause he could not handle the truth. He was in love and she did not love him. He accused her of being a hoe so she could get mad and dump him. So a high school move. LOL. I warned him not to and of course he did not listen. LOL.
yeah, he punk'd himself out. typical bitch ass nigga....nigga? yeah, i said it, what?
q: why do y'all tend to revolve around that "bad boy" when the "good guy" gets put in the "friend zone"?
Sometimes the nice guy does not state what he wants. If he's upfront and we're vibing it's good to go. I tend to go for the intellectual type anyway. 9 times out of 10 you know what you're getting into with a bad boy. If you can swing with it, more power to you. I'll hang out for the nice guy ;o)
With the recent VT shootings and the developing story of a gunman at NASA today http://www.cnn.com/, Should we have tougher gun laws? If not, what moral responsibility do we have to one another regarding violence in television, video games, music, etc?
I have not been into bad boys. Even when I was younger, my girlfriends liked the thugged out, drug dealer types. I was always to the side, kinda nerdish.
I love men with minds who can hold a convo. I have dated guys who came off as fine then the bad came out.
Funny, alot of the bad guys who tried to talk were boring. I like stimulating conversation. Not someone saying, "You know what I am saying," using the word like all the time and saying "And what not."
SMH. LOL.
Dr G. if only we could get some tougher gun laws. I think rebulicans will have to be out of power before that happens. It's so easy to get a gun, legit. We not only need tougher gun laws but we need the people selling the guns to follow the law. Without that, it's no good.
@Dr. G...tougher gun laws are definately needed. But in refference to the VT shootings...what would have stopped Cho from purschasing the guns...he was over 21 yrs of age, had no criminal record or history of violence? So that bring me to another question...
What should the required criteria be to purchase a fire arm to prevent what happened @VT from happening again?
You all get way too involved on this blog. Can't we just talk about wine or maybe movies??? How come it always gets so INTENSE over here, DC?
@KiKi-required criteria for gun purchase? Great question-my initial thought was a psychological profile screen much like what is done for every US postal worker. However, it seems that those who are deranged are often quite intelligent and more than likely we would still miss several persons with psychotic potential.
@Girly Girl-Wine is a great topic! There is a sophisticated, sexy all red decor restaurant called Vin(pronounced Vine) in Towson MD. I had a sensational Vouvray, Loire, 2003 while dining out a few months ago-sweet, nondry, excellent white wine!
Anyone have other wine favorites?
sorry that I missed all of the input...very interesting comments for sure in here.
Have a great week and weekend all!
Yes, Dr. G,
I love this particular Chardonnay by Cakebread Cellars. It is an excellent wine and perfect for warm weather.
We have a restaurant here in town that serves a wonderful Pinot Noir, but I can not remember where it comes from or what it's called.
i like mad dog 20/20 grape flavor.
Dr. G - I personally never think tougher laws stop crimes (they only punish the few who get caught). I think we need to train our children to:
1. Be as alert to those clues that tell us (our intuition) that shit is going to pop off & to get to safety!
2. To trust in a higher power & understand that this earthly madness only strengthens us if we tune into Our Creator's techniques for surviving it (destruction is never a healthy option and never makes the emotional pain go away).
GG - I found this fascinating wine blog on Anali's Blog: Va. Vine Spot. Enjoy!
My question(s):
How's E'erybody feeling? How can I share the joy that I'm grooving on now?
Life is just so Grand for me now, I pray that you are all feeling the love that is glowing from me! I wish each of you less painful lessons learned through challenging relationships. Hugz to U ALL!!
I agree with CAP. Laws will not stop folks from acting up. Look how many crimes occur and no one is caught. We don't even know how many because many folks get caught. Many folks get caught, punished, and do it again.
Girly Girl and Cap, thanks a bunch for the wine feedback. I will keep them in mind for an upcoming engagement next weekend.
I have a book I have been reading recently called: Windows on the World: Complete Wine Course by Kevin Zraly. Fun, quite informative and an easy read so far!
Im not a big wine drinker have suffered from too many youthful moments in front of the procelin queen paying tribute to have a love affair with it ( wild irish rose wasn't named wild cause it was mild in taste or reaction bred in me...)Now i do like riesling
my news question i pose is why do black people find it so impressive when white artist can sound or dance etc like us ?
OOOOOOH, CORT GEE IS TAP' DANCIN' ON MY NERVES!!!!! ROBIN THICKE!!!! DAT'S SOME BULLSHIT!!!!
all y'all sistah luv ya'self some robin thicke. if that cracka win a grammy over gerald levert, will ya luv him then?... ;-P
Dr. G!!!
I've read that book...it's a wonderful tool for learning more about wine. I think anyone who is curious about wine should own a copy. :)
huh? i leave the house(blog) and come back to lushy conversations...thanks alot Saadia!
