Pot Luck Friday...Part XXIV
Dis shole duz look good!
This forum is officially a smash hit. I am excited to present once again POT LUCK FRIDAY.
What I would like to do is get some feed back from some non blogging readers or some bloggers that don't have the time to blog right now. An open forum, if you will. Anything and everything in love, life, the world(personal or global), or whatever.
There is no topic off limits! I know that relationship posts are common but be more specific. What element of the relationships? Finding one, keeping one, how to get out of one..all are up for discussion and friendly debate.
I am an information junkie! Garbage in--garbage out! But, I still like to process information. So, I'd like to try to start a day where the readers are in control of every single question, we take the comment that is posted right before you, answer their comment question, then post your own question for the next person. We can discuss it in a civil manner. If it goes well, then it could be really fun. I must exercise more moderation on the personal topics comments. I got a few emails from some participants and I must agree that some of the comments were hurtful and should be handled off line...privately. Let's have fun and keep it relatively clean...please---thank you.
Have a fantastic weekend and let's come up with some great questions to kick around the campfire!
So without further delay.....who is up for the challenge, part 24?

ok, first of all, i was like "wait, it's not friday yet"...but then I remembered the time difference.
Question: why do we (black folks) allow ourselves to have hatred for other people of color in the U.S., considering our history in this country?
tha - For those who do feel this way, I can't honestly know but my opinion is because it could have been from growing up in a family who feels this way, and/or the way hatred is still portrayed to us today from other people of color, some of us don't know how to deal with it.
Q - Why do you think Hilary has the majority of black supporters over Obama?
Goodmorning everyone!
@ tha l,
Good question, I remember reading "The Willie Lynch Letter" the making of a slave. He actually had a plan for how to keep us (black then slaves) divided, and fighting amongst ourselves. Maybe there are some residual effects, that just spread ..... I don't know.
@ mis understood,
Bill!!!!!
Q: Concerned with this warm winter?
@ tha I. I love that question, and have much love for you for asking it. Anyhow, it is a mind set thing I believe. We are taught by popular media, and other influential sources not to trust other minorities. By tying people with stereotypes such as if they are black they are up to no good etc (although it is a little bit deeper). I do admit that I have had trouble accepting many black males my age (who show slight signs of thug like behavior) into my circle, due to me stereotyping. GOOD ONE THOUGH!
@-mis understood. I am not sure, I think its because of what her husband did when he was in office if you were to ask me.
@-nic. I am concerned with this warm winter, especially seeing the Day after tomorrow, this global warming stuff is getting out of hand and if we dont do something soon, that movie may very well become reality. Plus being a Minnesotan and winter baby, cool weather makes my world go round lol.
This one is for those living on the eastcoast (Philly, Baltimore, DC and all areas within) Does anyone know of any blogger groups that I could join?
nic - Yes indeed, if needed, I'm headed for the highest mountain!
Ray- Sorry, nope.
Q - Who would you want to portray you in a movie?
@mis understood: angela bassett, 4sho! if I was white, I'd go with uma thurman (i fell in love with her in Kill Bill).
@ray: thanks! you make some good points. the divide is very real.
Question: why the hell are Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson STILL our anointed civil rights leaders?
@Tha--Jessie and Al aren't MY appointed leaders. ;)
Whew! thank goodness for that!
Question: Who would you like to see WIN the presidency?
@ Mis understood,
Nia long
@ Tanyetta, I really don't know!
I have to say I'm pullin for Hillary.
Q:What makes you smile?
Let's see - I think me and this blogging thang are going to be alright. I feel like I can understand people more. I feel like I can recognize people more.
DC, to give props 2 u, Rich, Maddy, Torrance, Slish, Blogging while Black, Thought 4 The Day, Organized, Trey and others- I realize not all black men in America are toting gats, hiding the sack from the folks, or plotting up on something.
Have a good one.
@ mis understood- I would have to say Blair Underwood, I have that swagger like him a young, black professional male who is all about living it up.
@ tha I- I dunno why in hell them two are b/c as far as I am concerned them clowns do not represent me.
@ tanyetta- Anyone who will promise to fix the bull shit that Mr Bush destroyed (i.e. Reconstruction II) as well as create more opportunities for jobs and advancement of youth.
@ kiki- The #1 thing that makes me smile is when I am out on the town meeting folks and having a good time, not to mention lookin good.
Q: What was the most controversial moment for you in life? and How did you handle it?
wow...thanks don. I appreciate that, brah!
ok some left over questions...let me go address the ones still open.
give me a sec.
Q:What makes you smile?-Kiki
and
Q: What was the most controversial moment for you in life? and How did you handle it?-Ray
@Kiki: waking up in the morning and seeing everyone in my immediate family is doing the same.
@Ray: when I was in a racial altercation at Kent State University for dancing with a white girl from my poli sci class and was outnumbered 4-1 with some of my fellow track team mates. I got put in the hospital with a concussion and in retaliation when on a binge of beating up every white boy in sight for about a month when I got healthy
Q: Do you even care about the World Series?
