Monday Musings..the Tuesday edition.

For those of you that don't know me. Almost all of you...LOL! I have to share a piece of information that may mean nothing to you, yet it is the root of much agony for me.

I think most people have something that they consider a real pet peeve. I am going to share one of my biggest ones with you. It started a few years ago in Ohio. A fashion trend that irritated me to no end.

Some person, perhaps a teenager started wearing pajama pants out in public as regular attire. At first it was a few kids that I spotted, then it erupted into a city of young people that started coming out of the house...fresh out of bed and sporting their pajamas. In the store, walking down the street, at the bus stop, at the gas station and anywhere else in public view.

This is how they get down now.

Luckily for my son, he hasn't tried any sh*t like that or I would promptly blacken his eyeball. I just can't believe that there is a generation of young people that have absolutely no regard for public image. Being unkempt is a style now?! HUH?

Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for fashion trends and all but, c'mon now...Frickin pajamas. PLEASEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

I'm stepping down from my soapbox now.

Agree or not, I hate seeing people dressed like this...on purpose. What y'all think?

This has been my Public Service Announcement!

BACK IN THE DAY SOME COLLEGE GUYS CAME TO MY HOUSE LOOKING LIKE THAT LMAO

I don't get it either. I mean, just stay in the house if you don't want to get out of your pj's. Nothing wrong with that. I love to lounge around the house. I was in Starbucks a few months ago and this couple came in and ordered coffee and had on their pj's. I don't get why they just didn't make coffee at home.

I have worn my pj's in public though. One time in college, there was a theme party where we all dressed in pj's. That was fun. ; )

Please keep that ish along with the Browns on your side of the state border, thank you!

I am new to your blog but I can relate to your post. When I used to go to UT, they always dressed in pajama pants and a hoody. I guess I could understand if they had a class at 7 a.m. but not if it's 3 p.m. and their stankin azz is still in pajama pants.

Now I see this alot. I live in Cleveland and it's nothing to see kids walking down the street in the middle of the day with pictures of fluffy dogs and rainbows on their pants with some timbs on.

I guess whenever we tackle that problem, then we can move on to the girls that wear itty bitty shirts with a buddha belly.

ROFL@Mis Understood...(leave our Browns alone!)

Now back to the pajama foolishness...I thought I was trippin when I first started noticing younguns all up in the store with their pj's on. Then I asked one of my brothers friends were they some kind of new style or were these fools really wearings sleepwear...ole girl was like "yeah...they're pajajmas...I saw some really cute ones the other day I wanna get..." I promptly tuned her out thinking "W-T-F"!

Silly ass kids...

*In walks devil's avocate* But how about the same material those bottoms are made of liken to that of womens yoga pants and what not. How about leggings on women? Um, they look cute underneath baby doll dresses and denim mini skirts, but, um I'm a grown ass woman who no longer sports those kind of two-piece outfits at the ripe age of 34. Don't get me wrong, I have the body for alloit (all of it). That said, I do feel this same disdain for pajama bottoms. Maybe if the manufacturers stop making them so appealing (stars, pinstripes, polka dots, etc.) people wouldn't give them joints a second look. I mean how cute would a basic pair of navy or khaki pj bottoms look with a polo shirt tucked in? Not a good look whatsoever. Alas, this generation has no umph about themselves. They kind'a follow behind the masses, looking all loud and wrong.

I'm convinced they will soon be wearing blankets. No, no...towels. Yeah, towels. With a matching wash cloth.

Here in Michigan kids and adults are doing. SMH. LOL.

I don't like the trend. I wish it would go away. I especially wish boys sagging and wearing underwear showing hipsters would go away.

i have a teen who's worn her pj pants as pants to school. i questioned why and she said she liked the pants, but they were too hot (fleece) to wear to bed. However on a cold morning, they were ideal. i let her slide with that cause she gave such an eloquent explanation, but i certainly wouldn't condone her doing it like she was wearing jeans.

this ranks up there with grown ass men wearing saggin jeans, or women in clothes that are too small.

btw....i'm baaack!

My roommate started doing that sophomore year in college. He'd wake up and go straight to his 8am class in pants not to far off from the ones in the picture.

I don't understand this trend. I'm still not over wearing house shoes outside of the house.

You know another trend I don't like: wearing a t-shirt on your head looking like the Taliban.

This is something I don't like at all. Not in Public. Here You don't see to many Black folks doing it,But the white men and women were doing it so much they put a dress code on the sports bar down the street.

It's funny how that "style" shows its ugly head once every decade since the 60's. I remember people doing it in Louisiana at colleges 10-15 years ago.

It was tacky then...ain't nuthin' changed but the rain.

Good to see you're doing your thing again, fam!

You're not by yourself. I don't like the pajamas out in public nor the baggy pants showing your underwear. A law was passed here called the "saggy pants law" so that should eliminate that problem.

i know that wearing pajamas to class and around campus is a very college kid thing to do.. but other than that, i haven't seen any high school or junior high kids walking around in PJs. interesting.
