And They Say There's No Reason for Blacks to be Angry...

Have you lost your fucking mind?

I know that the speech given by Sen Barack Obama was a powerful one. It has also been addressed by Sec of State Condoleeza Rice.

Sometimes I reflect on the injustices and I become an "Angry Black Man"...I'm just sayin'

Does that make me un-American or un-Patriotic?

It boggles me that we are suppose to forget the past at what this country was built on as black people. That the world expects us to get over it already. Well maybe we would if we didnt still have to deal with those injustices. Like me being an African American woman working in sports... I will never make as much as a white man doing the same job even though I may be doing it better. We will get over it when things are really equally instead of living in a world where it just looks that way for those on the outside looking in.

So no I dont feel it makes you un-american. Our history is apart of america and anyone that isnt upset about that past is the one who is un-american

I was arguing with my mom last night over something similar. She was saying that as a race we ought to focus more on the current and not so much the past. I argued "Mom you walked in the MLK march...how could you say such a thing?" I wasn't even there during the heated era of civil rights and still feel angry....are you really ready to say that we've come a long way? 'Cause awww newsflash MOM ....WE HAVEN'T!

There are still so many injustices going on in this country that it is infuriating.

I must say I am impressed with your passion for this years elections.

@eb: your story is both an inspiration and disappointing. I wish you all the best in your career and that you can disprove those facts.

@b more: lots of people's parents I know think like that. you are certainly not alone.

@Neshia: lol..good. me too.

@Diva: thank you for the compliment. consider me the happy information broker. smile
